Jake Sully is a former Marine who is in a wheelchair. He is recruited to travel to Pandora, where corporations are mining a rare mineral that is the key to solving the problems of energy crisis on Earth. To be toxic Pandora's atmosphere, they have created the Avatar program, in which humans have their consciousness linked to a biological body controlled remotely that can survive in the deadly air of the planet. Already in his avatar form, Jake can walk again. He received the mission to infiltrate the natives of Pandora (the Na'vi), which have become the biggest obstacle to mining. But a beautiful Na'vi, Neytiri, saves Jake's life, and everything changes. Jake is admitted to his clan and learns to be one of them.
Meanwhile, humans continue with its plan, hoping that Jake information is useful.
